Law Schools Pilot Initiative
Earlier this month, with the generous help of NCBA members Joy Jackson, CEO of Faber & Brand, L.L.C. and David J. Weimer, Chief Compliance Officer, Kramer & Frank, P.C., we set out to launch an initiative to educate law students on the practice of creditors rights. The goal is to launch a pilot program at Loyola University and Tulane University School of Law, on the heels of 2024 NCBA Connect.
Leveraging FREE lunch, always a hit with law school students, NCBA members Jackson and Weimer, who practice in multiple jurisdictions, will present an exclusive seminar sharing the things they wish they knew when they were law students, provide general practice, litigation and judgment collection tips, as well as useful advice for students to care for themselves financially and mentally.
Additionally, students from both law schools will be invited to attend a portion of Connect at no cost.
The hope is that this seminar could be easily repeated at other law schools around the country. If you are an NCBA member and wish to get involved, give an hour-long seminar at your law school, please let Nathan Willner know and we will be happy to assist with planning and preparation, including providing you with marketing materials and a presentation deck.
