Opening Session - Behind the Byline: What Washington and Wall Street are Really Saying
Kick off Executive Experience with a rare line of sight into how Washington and Wall Street are actually talking about the issues shaping your practice. Kate Berry has been a financial journalist at American Banker since 2006, with a reporting focus on the CFPB and the country's largest banks. This is the kind of standing access to bank executives and regulators most of us only read about after the fact.
She'll walk through what's shifted since the midterms, where the administration's regulatory priorities appear to be heading, and what a new CFPB director could mean for the Bureau going forward. Expect a grounded, on-the-record read of the landscape — not speculation dressed up as certainty — so you're starting Executive Experience with the picture insiders have, not last month's headlines.
Speaker: Kate Berry, American Banker

AI 101 Part 2 for Law Firms: From Fundamentals to Results
Back by popular demand: AI 101 packed the room last year, and the industry is clearly moving well past the fundamentals. This session picks up where AI 101 left off: what's actually working, what's not, and what changed along the way. This session will lay it all out so you're not guessing at timeline, cost, or pitfalls if your own firm is weighing a build. Michael returns for a deeper, more advanced conversation grounded in a year of real use, with a Q&A built for firms on their AI journey, not just starting one.

From the Trenches: A Coast-to-Coast Defense Bar Case Law Update
The law is moving fast, and it looks different depending on which court you're standing in. This session brings defense bar attorneys from hot button jurisdictions where courts are shifting quickly. We anticipate a fast-paced look at what's showing up in dockets right now.
Expect a practical rundown of the case law and court trends worth watching, what's turning up in rulings, and how firms are adjusting because of it. Plus, a look at what compliance teams are flagging in client correspondence and pleadings before a case reaches a courtroom. You'll leave this session knowing what court trends to look out for and actionable takeaways for your firm.

Response to AI Litigation
AI has changed who's filing against your firm and how much they're filing. Self-represented parties, and increasingly opposing counsel are turning out longer, more polished counterclaims, arbitration demands and appeals in less time. They’re often built on confident-sounding law that doesn't hold up. The volume is real, but the substance often isn't. And unfortunately, taking it apart still costs your firm billable hours.
This session gives firm leaders a working playbook: how to recognize AI-generated filings early, a practical checklist your associates can use to flag them, and possible response strategies that go beyond simply calling it out. We'll look at where courts currently stand, what it will take to build precedent the way the industry did with sovereign-citizen filings, and how firms are working through their State Creditors Bar Associations to move that conversation forward. We'll also draw the line between legitimate AI use and abuse, so your firm can put the tools to work without inviting the same tactics used against you.
